UWSP student-athlete graduate Kriewaldt to play in the Super Bowl

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Points (UWSP) Pointer football program is represented in the upcoming National Football League Super Bowl.

Shiocton native Clint Kriewaldt played for the Pointers from 1995-98. He was a four-time all-conference selection and the WIAC player of the year as a senior. He is UW-Stevens Point's all-time leading tackler with 416 during his career and was a sixth round draft choice of the Detroit Lions in 1999.

He earned an interior architecture degree from UW-Stevens Point in 2000. The 2005 season is his seventh NFL season and his third with the Steelers after playing four years with the Lions.

"Student-athletes at the Division III level increasingly are making the grade in the NFL," said John Miech, UWSP football coach. "Our football program, the entire athletic department, and the entire campus and community are proud of Clints accomplishments both in the classroom and on the gridiron."
