UW Russian Folk Orchestra to perform at UWSP
The University of Wisconsin Russian Folk Orchestra from Madison will perform on Sunday, March 30, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. (UWSP).
The 32-member orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. in the Laird Room of the Dreyfus University Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Victor Gorodinsky is the music director and founder of the orchestra which began rehearsals in 1997. The orchestra performs mainly Russian and other Slavic folk songs, dances and ballads, as well as music of Russian classical composers on authentic Russian stringed instruments.
