A Minnesota-based A Cappela group, Marcoux Corner, will bring its harmonies to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point�s (UWSP) University Center Encore at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24.

Marcoux Corner has sung the national anthem for President George W. Bush, as well as shared the stage with national recording artists such as the Beach Boys, Sheri Austin and others.

Sponsored by UWSP�s Centertainment Productions, the performance is free to students with a valid UWSP ID and $3 for the public.

Members include Brent Thorson, lead tenor, Kevin Taylor, second tenor, Eric Hansen Patenaude, bass, and Joshua Nathan Baesler, baritone. All but Baesler are graduates of Crookston High School in Crookston, Minn., and Concordia College of Moorhead. A graduate of Minnesota State University at Moorhead, Baesler attended Roseville Area High School, Roseville, Minn.

In just a few years, the group has performed more than 300 shows in 14 states. The repertoire covers five decades of music from doo-wop to hip hop.
