Tom Charlesworth, photographer for Web and Media Services at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), received a second place award in the sports category for "Ouch!" (left).

Charlesworth was honored in the fall Monthly Image Competition of the University Photographers Association of America (UPAA). There were 43 entrants with 214 submitted works in six categories. There were 53 entries in the sports category.

Charlesworth has received national honors in the UPAA competitions and other contests over the past years and is a founding member of the Focal Point Camera Club.

A 1987 UWSP alumnus, Charlesworth began working at UWSP in 1999. Previously he was chief photographer at the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune and a staff photographer at the Stevens Point Journal. A Stevens Point native, Charlesworth now lives in Waupaca with his wife, Laurie.
