Keller to perform in faculty recital
Michael Keller, professor of piano, and other professors will perform in a faculty recital using both replica and antique musical instruments on Monday, February 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 221 of the Noel Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, admission is $6.75 for the general public, $3.75 for senior citizens, $2.75 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with UWSP IDs. Tickets are available at the University Box Office at 200 Division St., or by calling (715) 346-4100 or (800) 838-3378. Visa, MasterCard or Discover is accepted. Tickets may also be purchased at the door if seats are available.
The works of Mozart, Haydn, Cimarosa and Wanhal will be performed by Keller on a fortepiano, a replica of an instrument used in the late 18th century. He will be accompanied by fellow music professors Steven Bjella on a 17th century violin, Andrea Splittberger-Rosen on a replica 18th century six-key clarinet, and Susan Bender on vocals.
Following the program, the performers will return to the stage for questions about the instruments and music.
