Roseman to perform faculty piano recital
Pianist Molly Roseman will perform in a faculty recital at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The performance in Michelsen Hall of the Fine Arts Center is part of the Music Scholarship Series. Admission is $6 for the general public, $3 for senior citizens, 2 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with UWSP IDs. Tickets are available at the UWSP Box Office, Room 103A University Center, 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378, online at https://tickets.uwsp.edu/Wt3/, or at the door if the concert is not sold out in advance.
The program will include Mozart�s Sonata in D major, K. 311, Chopin�s "Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise, Op. 22," Grieg�s "Holberg Suite, Op. 40," Mompou�s "Impresiones Intimas," and Debussy�s "L�Isle Joyeuse."
Roseman is an active solo and collaborative pianist throughout Wisconsin and has been a featured performer with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and on Wisconsin Public Radio�s "Live at the Elvehjem" series. She actively performs with the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra as orchestral pianist and has held the position of principal keyboard for the past three years.
Roseman has performed in many venues throughout the United States, including appearances with the Florida State University Wind Ensemble, the Kansas City Youth Symphony, the National Flute Association Convention (Orlando), Atlanta Pro-Mozart Society, Tallahassee Bach Parley, and the Memorial Art Gallery Series in Rochester, N.Y.
As an educator, Roseman has taught at Oklahoma Baptist University, Florida State University and the Wausau Conservatory of Music. Her formal training includes a bachelor�s degree in piano performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory; a master�s in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music; and a doctorate of music in piano performance from Florida State University. She has studied piano with James Streem, Jeffrey Kahane, and Richard Cass. Additional studies include collaborative piano with Jean Barr at the Eastman School of Music.
Roseman is a member of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and is an active adjudicator for many local and state competitions.
