Interim Chancellor Virginia Helm has announced the formation of a search and screen committee to seek a new University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Foundation Executive Director and Assistant to the Chancellor for Advancement.

A cross section of campus representatives, including faculty, staff, a student and foundation board members, make up the committee that will begin to meet this month. Members of the committee are: Chair Chris Sadler, Elia Armacanqui and Janet McKnight, representing the faculty, Jim Anderson and Bob Worth, foundation board, Jackie Christiansen, foundation staff, Mike Fahey, college development staff, Sara Otto, Alumni and University Relations Office staff, and student Timothy W. Collins, a freshman English major from Marshfield.

In this senior level position reporting to the UWSP chancellor, the director will work with the foundation board as well as with the college deans and development officers in advancing institutional development. The director will oversee staff in the foundation office and supervise the Alumni and University Relations Office. The position is responsible for leadership and coordination of advancement activities, including alumni relations, annual giving, donor development and recognition, major gifts, planned giving, and undertaking the institution�s first major capital campaign.

Applications will be screened beginning February 15. Helm said the campus would optimistically like to see the position filled by summer.

During the interim, the UWSP Foundation will be headed by Helen Godfrey, emeritus assistant chancellor of student affairs.
