Bayne serves another term as acting affirmative action director
Nancy Bayne, professor of psychology, has agreed to serve another one-year term as acting special assistant to the chancellor for equity and affirmative action.
The recent search for a permanent affirmative action director was closed due to an insufficient pool of candidates, according to Nancy Moore, chair of the search and screen committee.
Prior to Bayne's service as three-quarter time director for the past year, she worked part time in affirmative action for two years assisting the former director. A developmental psychologist, she is a tenured member of the UWSP psychology faculty and former coordinator of Women's Studies.
During her tenure as acting director, Bayne has provided training to help develop a respectful environment for everyone on campus. She completed the university's hiring handbook with the help of Program Assistant Jane Amdahl and hosted a recent national teleconference, "Shaping the National Agenda for Women in Higher Education."
