Jazz Repertory Concert at UW-Stevens Point

Students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will perform in a Jazz Repertory Concert on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center.

The performance at 7:30 p.m. will be open to the public free of charge. The musicians are all students of Mathew Buchman.

Buchman, associate professor of music and director of jazz studies, has toured the U.S., Canada, and Germany as a performer. He has worked with Karl Berger, Michael Formanek, Tim Berne, and Donald Byrd among others. He also has been involved in several recordings including "Timescape" with Ed Sarath and Karl Berger, and "Easy to Love" with the Tom Washatka Quartet. As a composer and arranger, Buchman�s works include music for piano, large and small jazz ensembles and orchestra.
