UWSP Student Employment Week honors employers and employees
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will honor student employers and employees during Student Employment Week, April 4-8.
The week�s events will include a Leadership, Education and Development Dinner on Tuesday, April 5 at 6 p.m. in the University Center (UC) Alumni Room. UWSP alumni will discuss their leadership experiences and how those experiences have impacted their professional lives. Speakers at the event will include Sue Wilcox of the Portage County United Way, Kevin Masarik of the UWSP College of Natural Resources, Paul Piotrowski of the Stevens Point Police Department, Chad Cook of the UWSP Extension, and Kaleena Weishoff, a regional consultant for Bath and Bodyworks. Interested persons may register on the Web at
www.uwsp.edu/centers/sieo/leadership%5Fprograms/lead.html or at the Information Desk located in the UC. The cost to attend is $3 per person.There will be a Summer Job Fair on Wednesday, April 6. The event will be held in the Melvin R. Laird Room of the UC from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. A variety of local employers will be on hand to interview potential student employees for summer positions.
Other events include a performance by the Tyler Ross Trio, a local student musical group, in the Concourse of the UC from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, and free cake in the UC Food Court and UWSP Library on Thursday, April 7 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
