Explore the world of glass through a two-day seminar at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

"Glass Fusing" will be held on Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, from 1-3 p.m. Enjoy the opportunity to learn fusing techniques for small glass tile paintings.

Instructor Kristin Thielking will lead lectures on glass using Bullseye colored sheet glass, frit and recycled glass. A slide presentation of contemporary glass works will also be presented as a background on glass art. The session fee is $112.

Thielking joined the UWSP faculty in 2001. She and her husband, Keven Brunett, a UWSP lecturer in art and design and interior architecture, attended the Pilcuck Glass School last summer through grants from the University Personnel Development Committee. Since 1994 they have made a large hanging glass and metal sculpture for the entrance of the Bank of Wausau, a large memorial glass relief window for the front entrance of a Plover elementary school, and a glass and metal conference table for Jeff Morin, dean of the UWSP College of Fine Arts and Communication.
