Joint student recital at UWSP
Percussionists Kayla Berndt and Adam Rappel will perform in student recital at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday, March 27.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center and will be open to the public free of charge.
Berndt will be performing "Memories of the Seashore" by Keiko Abe and "Five Preludes for Saxophone and Percussion" by Verne Reynolds, assisted by Jenny Belmer.
Rappel will perform, "Itsuki Fantasy for 6 Mallets" by Keiko Abe and "Cold Pressed" by David Hollinden. Berndt and Rappel will also play several duets, including "Ultimatum II" by Nebojsa Zivkovic, "Carousel" by David Friedman and Dave Samuels and "Trio Per Uno" by Nebojsa Zivkovic, assisted by Wayne Salzmann.
Berndt, daughter of John and Julie Berndt, Oshkosh, is a junior majoring in music. She is a member of the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and the UWSP Jazz, Percussion and Wind Ensembles and she participates in community pit orchestras.
Rappel, son of Kim and Ronald Leitermann, Manitowoc, is a senior majoring in music. He is a member of the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and community pit orchestras and teaches percussion through the UWSP Continuing Education Arts and Culture Outreach.
