Bands to perform at UWSP
Bascom Hill and Green Lemon will perform at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point this month.
The shows, sponsored by UWSP Centertainment Productions, will be held in the Encore of the Dreyfus University Center at 8 p.m.
Bascom Hill will perform on Thursday, Jan. 26. Admission is $4 for the general public, free for UWSP students with ID. This band from Kenosha features aggressive vocals, pop focus and a willingness to take risks that appeals to fans of all ages. They have performed at Shank Hall in Milwaukee, the Great Dane in Madison and the Sturgis Harley Fest. Their debut CD, "Maybe," won a perfect 5.0 rating among listeners on garageband.com.
Green Lemon will play on Saturday, Jan. 28. Admission is $6 for the general public, free for UWSP students with ID. The Green Lemon was named the "New Homegrown Band of 2004" by Leeways Home Grown Music Network, "Independent Artist of 2004" by Hapi Skratch Entertainment and "Top Bands to See Live in 2005" by JamBase.com. South Carolinas MetroBeat magazine described them as ". . . hardly your typical jam band. Transcending the usual neo-hippie mix of Grateful Dead, Phish and String Cheese Incident-inspired improvisation, the Colorado-based band delivers a wildly eclectic sound that broadly expands the territory a jam band can cover without sacrificing its core."
