Classes for nonprofits offered this spring
The award-winning Effective Fundraising and Development Programs developed by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education Office will be offered this fall at the Wisconsin Learning Center. The series for nonprofit organizations is designed to help with funding and development.
The classes will be held at the Wisconsin Learning Center, 5510A Vern Holmes Drive, Stevens Point, on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. The cost is $20 per session or $99 for the series. The course list includes:
"Overview of Fundraising and Development," scheduled for Jan. 12, will look into issues related to direct marketing, ethics and planning.
"Working with Boards and Volunteers," Jan. 19, will examine ways to make working with board members and volunteers simple and effective.
"Special Events," Jan. 26, will create an efficient plan for planning and implementing special events.
"Planned Giving," Feb. 9, will center on planned giving programs that do not require a financial expert.
"Capitol Campaigns," Feb. 16, will have participants develop an outline of the preplanning necessary to launch a major fundraising effort.
"Major Gifts," Feb. 23, will present secrets to successful major gift fundraising events.

UWSP Continuing Education is the center of lifelong learning at UWSP. The organization provides credit classes, degree completion programs, conference planning, contract industry, youth, working adults and special audiences.
