Pert’ Near Sandstone, a self-professed "new-timey string band" from the Minneapolis area, will perform at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP).

Sponsored by UWSP Centertainment Productions, the band will perform on Friday, March 28, at 8 p.m. in the Encore of the Dreyfus University Center. Admission is $4 for the general public and free with a UWSP ID.

Pert’ Near Sandstone delivers a fresh acoustic sound with an old-time approach. Established in 2003, band members include Kevin Kniebel on banjo and vocals, Ryan Young on fiddle, guitar and mandolin, J Lenz on guitar, Nate Sipe on mandolin, fiddle and banjo, and Jeff Swanner on string bass.
