Comedian and author Jeff Havens will perform at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) on Thursday, April 10.

Sponsored by UWSP Centertainment Productions, the performance will be held at 8 p.m. in the Encore of the Dreyfus University Center. Admission is $4 for the public and free with a UWSP ID.

Havens, a 2000 graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in English and secondary education, taught high school for two years and his now a full-time comedian and author. His first novel, "Reality," was published by Academy Chicago Publishers. He has written five other novels, two satirical self-help books, one book of poetry, a children’s play and dozens of short stories.

Havens has performed for audiences in over 30 states and parts of Canada. He has also performed his high-energy act alongside Dave Coulier, Ralphie May and Auggie Smith. His comedy is described as a charismatic combination of George Carlin (without the vulgarity) and Eddie Izzard (without the makeup).
