UWSP Double Reed Ensemble and Concert Band to perform

The Double Reed Ensemble and Concert Band at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will perform on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert, part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, will be held in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $6 for the public, $3 for senior citizens, $2 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UWSP ID. Tickets are available at University Information and Tickets in the Dreyfus University Center, or by calling (715) 346-4100 or (800) 838-3378. Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted. Tickets may also be purchased at the door if seats are available.

The Double Reed Ensemble, conducted by Stacey Berk, assistant professor of music, will open the program with the "Suite in B-flat Major" by J.C.F. Fischer. Brendan Caldwell, assistant professor of music, will conduct the Concert Band who will premier "Mediation of a Surrendered Soul" by UWSP student Sarah Porwoll of Racine. Other selections will include Gordon Jacob’s "Original Suite," "The Hounds of Spring" by Alfred Reed, and "The Jig is Up" by Daniel Kallman.
