Bassoonist Andrea MacFarlane, a senior applied music major from Reedsburg, will perform in a student recital at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The performance in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center will be open to the public free of charge.

MacFarlane will be accompanied by Lily Brissman on piano, Connie Nieforth on flute, and Angelina Lopez-Frank on clarinet. The program will include "Concerto for Bassoon in B-flat Major" by Mozart, "Variations for Bassoon and Orchestra" by Konradin Kreutzer, "Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra" by Gordon Jacob and "Trio," written by MacFarlane.

The daughter of Tim and Dawn MacFarlane, E9084 State Hwy 23, Reedsburg, MacFarlane is a 2001 graduate of Sun Prairie High School. At UWSP she is a member of the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Bassoon Ensemble and Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.
