Alumna returns to UWSP to give recital

An alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will return to campus to perform in a guest horn recital on Wednesday, January 30.

Brenda Luchsinger, 2004 UWSP graduate and a doctoral student at the University of Alabama (UA), will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center. It is open to the public free of charge.

Luchsinger, a graduate teaching assistant at UA, is an active performer with symphonies in Alabama and Georgia and has toured both nationally and internationally. She has been nominated for a Grammy Award, has recorded with Trade Winds Wind Ensemble, the American Wind Symphony Orchestra and the University of Florida Wind Symphony. She has also performed in master classes with many leading musicians and horn ensembles.

A native of Manitowoc, she studied with Professor Patrick Miles while at UWSP and performed with the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra, Green Bay Civic Symphony, Wausau, Marshfield and Manitowoc symphonies and the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble. She earned a master�s degree in horn performance at the University of Florida, where she was also an active performer.
