Research symposium to be held at UWSP
Ninety students from the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will present research from a variety of disciplines at the Second Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Saturday, April 21.
The symposium, free and open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Science Buildingl located at the corner of Reserve Street and Fourth Avenue.
The first presentations will take place from 9-11 a.m. in the building�s Reserve Street lobby. Students from biology, geography and geology, chemistry, psychology, physics and astronomy will present poster presentations on a variety of research topics.
A faculty panel will be held in room A121 from 11 a.m. to noon, with a welcome by Chancellor Tom George. Panel members will include Dona Warren, philosophy; Eugene Johnson, chemistry; Padmanabhan Sudevan, psychology; and Richard Crowther, biology.
Oral presentations will take place from 1-3 p.m. in various rooms of the Science Building. Students of philosophy, religious studies and anthropology will present in room A121 and A225. Sociology, foreign languages, biology, geography and geology students will present in room A201 and additional biology presentations will take place in room A208.
