Gourmet cooking series offered through UWSP

A series of four gourmet cooking classes offered by Arts and Culture Outreach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will begin Saturday, Feb. 10, with a course on "New Orleans and Mardi Gras: Cajun & Creole Specialties."

The course will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the Green Fountain Inn in Waupaca and taught by the inn�s head chef, Deb Ostrander.

The series also includes "Gourmet Breads and Soups" on Sat., March 31; "Tapas and International Hors d�oeuvres" on Sat., April 21; and "Decadent Desserts" on May 5. Each hands-on session is $35 or sign up for all four classes for the reduced rate of $130. Following each class there will be time to relax and enjoy the results.

Ostrander has a degree in culinary arts from Fox Valley Technical College and has taught culinary classes in the Door County area.
