MEDIA ADVISORY: Dance company to teach classes at UWSP, perform repertoire
What: A professional dance company will teach two master classes at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and give a repertory performance at Sentry Theater in Stevens Point through the Sentry Insurance Invitation to the Arts Series.
Who: Hubbard Street 2 (HS2), a group based in Chicago as part of the Hubbard Street Dance Company, includes seven dancers between the ages of 17 and 25 who perform a repertoire of works by some of the nation's most promising young choreographers.
HS2 was formed in 1997 to train, recognize and encourage young dancers and choreographers. It offers a national choreography competition through the National Endowment for the Arts and offers the three winners residencies with the company. HS2 reaches 35,000 people annually through performances at schools, community centers and theaters.

Tuesday, April 29
6:30- 8 p.m. Contemporary Jazz Master Class, NFAC 130/136
Open to UWSP theatre and dance students.
Wednesday, April 30
7:30 p.m. HS2 repertory program, Sentry Theater
A 90-minute performance followed by a question and answer period between the
audience and the dancers.
