‘Never the Sinner’ production honored again
A University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Theatre and Dance production has been honored by the
Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Washington D.C.
The company of “Never the Sinner,” produced at UWSP last fall, was honored for costuming with the
Distinguished Achievement in Men’s Tailoring as well as for the acting company’s ensemble
performance.
This is an additional honor for the company, which was also recognized by the American College Theatre
Festival through selection for the Region III festival in Saginaw, Mich., in January, where they mounted
two performances of the show while seeing numerous productions, participating in workshops and competing
in acting and design events.
As a result of the regional competition, Mercer Aplin was chosen to compete in the national festival at
the Kennedy Center by winning the Sound Design Excellence Award. David LaRose was named a winner of the
Society of Properties Artists and Managers Outstanding Achievement in Properties Design, Andy Broomell
earned a Region III Judges Award for Outstanding Media Design and Thomas Bevan advanced to the semi-final
round of the Irene Ryan acting competition.
