UWSP alumnus, video game producer and
children's book author returns to his
native Wisconsin on a book tour
What:
Hollywood-based video game
producer and Seymour native Scott Langteau will return to his native
Wisconsin to promote his newly released children's book, "Sofa Boy,"
which paints a hilarious yet fantastical picture of an extreme case
of gaming obsession, accompanied by the eye-popping art of
illustrator Rion Vernon. During his book tour, Langteau will be
available for interviews with local media and speaking engagements.
Who:
Langteau, a 1990 alumnus of
UWSP's Department of Theatre & Dance and a former "Sofa Boy"
himself, is best known as a video game producer for his work on the
acclaimed "Medal of Honor" game franchise. He has worked for
companies including DreamWorks, Electronic Arts and the Jim Henson
Company. Currently, he is a co-founder of the video game development
studio Spark Unlimited.
When/Where:
CLangteau will spend
Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10, in Central Wisconsin, then
tour the Brown County Library System Monday, July 13, through

About the book:
"Sofa Boy"
invites readers into the living room of an average family. But this
family's son has a bigger than average obsession with video games.
Sitting from daybreak to dark on the family sofa, the boy will not
stop his gaming and TV gazing to play outside, have dinner, take a
bath or go to bed. He is, quite literally, consumed with sitting on
the couch. Penned with a clever rhyme scheme and accompanied by
