Caldecott winner among artists at UWSP Monoprint event
What:
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Art and
Design is hosting 12 national and international artists this week as part of Monoprint 2009,
including Caldecott Medal winner Eric Rohmann.
Rohmann is the author, designer and illustrator of many books for children, including “My Friend
Rabbit,” which won the 2003 Caldecott Medal for the best illustrated children’s book, and “Time
Flies,” which won the Caldecott Honors Medal in 1994. He also wrote and illustrated “The Cinder-Eyed
Cats,” “Pumpkinhead,” “Clara and Asha” and “A Kitten Tale.”
All of the artists, including Rohmann, may be interviewed this week while they create one-of-a-kind
prints, some of which will be sold on Thursday night as part of a gala fundraiser for the UWSP
