International trio to perform in a recital
The Tsachor/Hardy/Vardi Piano Trio will perform in a guest recital at the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) on Wednesday, November 12.
The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel
Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature cellist Uri Vardi, pianist Uriel Tsachor and
violinist Andrew Hardy. The trio will perform three piano trios, “Variations
on a Hebrew Melody” by Paul Ben Haim, “Trio in D Major op. 1” by Erich
Korngold, and “Trio in B Major op. 8” by J. Brahms.
Vardi, professor of cello at the UW-Madison, has performed as recitalist,
soloist, and chamber player across the United States, Europe, South
America and his native Israel. He studied at the Rubin Academy in Tel
Aviv, was an artist diploma student at Indiana University, and earned
his master's degree from Yale University.
Tsachor, professor of piano at the University of Iowa, is an internationally
active soloist and chamber musician. He has performed as recitalist,
soloist with orchestra and chamber musician throughout the United States
and Europe and with all major orchestras in Israel. He is a graduate of
the Tel-Aviv Rubin Academy and the Juilliard School of Music.
Hardy, a native of Baltimore, Md., gave his solo debut with the Baltimore
Symphony Orchestra at age 15. He holds a bachelor’s degree in performance
from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and currently resides in Brussels,
Belgium. Hardy has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras and
regularly appears as recitalist and as a chamber musician throughout
Europe, Russia and the United States.
