UWSP Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Ensemble perform
in concert
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Jazz Lab Band
and Jazz Ensemble will perform on Monday, December 8.
The concert, part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, will
be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center.
Tickets are $7 for the public, $4 for senior citizens, $3 for UWSP
students and youth and free the day of the concert for students with
a UWSP ID. Tickets are available at University Information and Tickets
in the Dreyfus University Center, or by calling 715-346-4100 or
800-838-3378. Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted. Tickets
may also be purchased at the door if seats are available.
The Jazz Lab Band, directed by Brent Turney, assistant professor of
music, will perform “Cherokee” by Ray Noble, “March Majestic” by Bob
Mintzer, “Mo-Lasses” by Joe Newman, and “Momcat Mambo” by Michael
Philip Mossman.
The Jazz Ensemble, directed by Mathew Buchman, associate professor
and director of jazz studies, will perform “St. Thomas” by Sonny Rollins,
Duke Ellington’s “Jack the Bear” and “Jump for Joy,” “Loose Cannon” by
John Scofield, arranged by Buchman, and “The Gift” by Bill Holman.
