UWSP Choral Union and Women’s
Choir to perform
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Choral Union and
Women’s Choir will perform together in concert on Thursday,
December 4.
The concert is part of the Music Department Scholarship Series
and will be held in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center
at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for the public, $4 for senior citizens,
$3 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with a
UWSP ID. Tickets are available at University Information and
Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center concourse, or by
calling 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378. Visa, MasterCard or Discover
are accepted. Tickets may also be purchased at the door if seats
are available.
The Choral Union, conducted by Lucinda Thayer, professor of music
and director of choral activities, will perform “There Shall a Star
From Jacob” by Felix Mendelssohn, “Cantique de Jean Racine” by
Gabriel Faure, and “Shepherds Pipe Carol” and “A Gaelic Blessing”
by John Rutter. Mary Ellen Mitchell will assist on piano.
The Women’s Choir, led by guest conductor, James Carpenter, will perform
“Allunde Alluya” an African prayer lullaby arranged by Sali Terri, “Laudate
pueri Dominum” by Felix Mendelssohn, “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” by Eleanor
Daley, and “Salmo 150” by Ernani Aguiar.
