What began as a trio of musicians who played together for fun while
students at the Curtis Institute for Music in Philadelphia evolved
into Time for Three, a group with no musical boundaries.
Violinists Zachary DePue and Nicolas Kendall discovered their mutual
love of country western and bluegrass styles, then bassist Ranaan
Meyer introduced them to his deep roots in jazz and improvisation.
The group was formed to nontraditionally blend their talent
Performing 120 concerts a year, the group has won over a diverse
audience and has played with the world’s preeminent conductors and
orchestras as well as for schools, community outreach programs,
awards ceremonies, radio broadcasts and philanthropic events. They
recorded the soundtrack for the History Channel’s “Spanish American
War,” airing nationally this spring.
Their first and self-titled CD was released in 2002, their second,
“We Just Burned This For You!” was released in 2005 and a third,
“Three Fervent Travelers,” is planned for spring.
