through UWSP
An online program to earn a paralegal certification is now being
offered through Continuing Education at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The Paralegal Certificate Program includes five courses that run for
seven weeks, each beginning on the following dates: Thursday,
November 6; Thursday, February 5, 2009; Thursday, April 2, 2009; and
Thursday, June 4, 2009. Classes will then resume in fall 2009.
Individual courses may be taken or all five may be completed for
full certification. Classes may be taken in any order but the
following arrangement is recommended:
- Paralegal Research – an overview of research and writing tools
- Paralegal Jurisprudence – an overview of the profession and
areas of legal specialization
- Paralegal litigation – an overview of litigation and trial
support
- Paralegal management – an overview of office management
- Paralegal career – an overview of job search and portfolio
methods
Students will access the lectures and study materials online and
flexible scheduling allows students to work at their own pace. The
courses will be led by instructor Zoran V. Perovanovich, a paralegal
educator and consultant for more than 20 years. He is the founder
and an instructor of Midwest Paralegal Studies and is dedicated to
offering flexible entry-level paralegal tutoring across the country.
Tuition for each of the five classes is $195. The cost for the
five-course certificate series is $975. Fees include all study
materials.
