Read through Unit III and respond to Unit III Discussion Assignment by December 10, 2006.

Think of the various non-food uses of plants, e.g. perfumes, religious and spiritual, clothing, shelter, etc in human cultures. Pick a plant species (preferably one that had not been covered in the readings) that had been used for perfumes, religious or spiritual purposes, clothing, shelter or transportation in an indigenous culture or European or Chinese or Indian cultures in ancient history.  You don't have to limit your source of information to the internet.  Feel free to research your information from books, journals, magazine, etc. Limit your answer to about a page.
