Welcome to the Environmental Studies of China
(ESC). This course is designed for K-12 Teachers in any subject area or
grade level. This course has been designed for those interested in world
environmental issues as they relate to China.
China’s
large territory and population guarantee its environmental impact on the
rest of the world. China is the
world’s most populous country and the fourth largest in area. Its economy is
growing at the fastest rate of any major nation, and its environmental
problems are among the most severe of any major country. China and the rest of the world have
become closely interconnected.
This course
aims to assist educators in understanding the cultural, educational, and
political situations that impact the environment in China.
