Welcome to Students and Guests

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the philosophies, theories and methods common to the process of environmental education.

A special focus is placed on the implementation of environmental education in the state of Wisconsin. 

This course, along with UWSP's 3 credit online course NRES 600 Wisconsin Environmental Studies, fulfills the requirement of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Environmental Education Mandate on environmental education for teacher certification.

In fact the combination of these two courses was designed with the needs of individuals originally certified in other states and now seeking Wisconsin certification in mind. (Note: individuals originally certified in other states often are deficient in their EE preparation and must resolve this deficiency before receiving official Wisconsin teaching certification.)

A brief overview of the course is provided here in "open-space" web pages. Official coursework is conducted within "protected space" using the UW-Stevens Point's Desire 2 Learn platform.

Individuals desiring to take the course need to officially register and pay tuition in order to be able to access the "protected space" portions of the course. For information about future course dates or registration questions contact Jessica Tomaszewski
