Extended biography picture of Dr. Patrick Miles

Dr. Patrick Miles is Professor of Horn and Director of Orchestral Activities at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. In addition, he is Music Director for the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and the Green Bay Civic Symphony and appears frequently as a guest conductor for the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra. Patrick has conducted the Marquette Symphony Orchestra, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Wausau Symphony Orchestra, Corvallis Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Dodge Symphony Orchestra as well as numerous collegiate ensembles. Patrick’s principal conducting teacher was James Dixon. In 1992 he studied with Maestro Fritz Maraffi in Rome, Italy. In 1993, Patrick was awarded a grant to study conducting and baroque performance practices with Nicholas McGegan and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in Berkeley, CA, and in 1995 Patrick attended the Conductors' Guild Conductors Training Workshop at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
