Solo and Ensemble Workshop

Members of the UW-Stevens Point Music Department are offering FREE coaching sessions on Saturday, April 26th for high school students who will be performing at the upcoming State Solo and Ensemble Festival.
 
All solo and ensemble performance groups are invited for the following sessions:  Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion, Voice, Violin, Harp, Jazz Piano, and Jazz Improvisation.

Also on that day an information session will be provided on the AP Music Theory Exam by UWSP faculty composer Charles Rochester Young.  Passing this exam can potentially save thousands of dollars in college tuition.  Dr. Young has served as a reviewer and grader for this examination with the College Board.  For inquiries, contact Dr. Young at (715) 346-3852 or cyoung@uwsp.edu 

Directions

Highway 66 from the West:  
  • Follow Highway 66 east (Clark Street) through four traffic lights
  • Proceed one more block from the Division Street intersection (Business Hwy 51) to Phillips St.
  • Turn left on Phillips Street
  • Park in Lot Q, or north end of lot P 
Interstate 39 from the East/North/South:  
  • Take the Business Hwy 51 Exit from I-39 (Exit #161)
  • Follow Business Hwy 51(Division St.) through 3 traffic lights
  • Turn left on Portage Street
  • Park in Lot Q, or north end of lot P   
Highway 66 from the East:  
  • Follow Highway 66 west (Main Street) through seven traffic lights
  • Proceed four more blocks from the Michigan Avenue intersection to Phillips Street
  • Turn right on Phillips Street
  • Park in Lot Q, or north end of lot P
