Twenty-second Annual
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Horn Fest

Saturday, November 10, 2012

The Twenty-second Annual University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Horn Fest will be held on Saturday, November 10.  This festival has become the largest of its kind in Wisconsin and last year included over 60 horn players from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa.  The day includes master classes, clinics, rehearsals and performances by horn players from middle school age to professionals.  The main event of the festival will be a massed horn choir including all participants, conducted by Dr. Patrick Miles, Professor of Horn and Director of Orchestral Activities at UWSP.  In addition to the massed choir, the afternoon concert will feature performances by the Wisconsin Rapids Horn Ensemble, UWSP students and the massed Festival Horn Choir.  This year, we are also hosting the First Annual Brass Day so the event will be larger than ever.

This festival is designed to give encouragement and inspiration to players of an often neglected and frequently misunderstood instrument.  Last year's festival was a tremendous success and we are hoping to duplicate or surpass that event.  The fee for the event is $25 for individuals and includes the festival music, master class handout and a festival T-shirt.  Registration monies can be paid at the time of registration.  However, I ask that you send in the registration form in advance so that I can send music ahead of time to those participating as well as ordering their T-shirt.  All events will occur in the Noel Fine Arts Center on the UWSP campus.
Please print out the registration form and return to Dr. Patrick Miles.

The schedule for the day is designed to try and avoid conflicts with evening events and the necessity for extremely early morning travel.
