Multicultural
Affairs Main Office |

The Multicultural Affairs Main Office provides services which enhance cultural diversity at UW-Stevens Point by conducting a variety of programs aimed primarily at the enrichment, basic attraction (precollege programs), and retention of minority students; coordinates cultural awareness activities with student organizations; supports cultural awareness activities to minority students; and coordinates the UWSP Design for Diversity Plan, which is currently called Plan 2008. |

Multicultural Resource Center (MCRC)

The Multicultural Resource Center works closely with minority student organizations on campus and provides special assistance to minority students. The MCRC also provides meeting space, computers, telephone, and tutoring sessions. |

Native
American Center (NAC) |
|
The Native American Center provides technical assistance to Native American tribes in Wisconsin and also works with Native American students on campus. The NAC also sponsors activities such as as annual Wisconsin Indian Youth Conference (precollege summer program), American Indian Families Institute Seminar, and Forum on Sovereignty. |

Student Support Services |
|
The Student Support Services (SSS) office is a federally-funded TRIO program that provides comprehensive academic support and guidance to 210 eligible students. SSS's purpose is to increase retention and graduation rates of UWSP's students who meet the U.S. Department of Education's requirements of low income, first generation, and/or physical or learning disabled. |

Precollege
Programs
|

|
Sponsored and funded by scholarships for free and reduced lunch students through the Department of Public Instruction and some federal and private funding, these precollege programs bring middle school and high school students to UWSP each summer. Students in grades 6-12 and graduating seniors come to campus for academic skill building, enrichment, and career opportunity awareness. |

Upward
Bound Program |
|
Upward Bound is a TRIO program that is funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Upward Bound brings disadvantaged high school students (from a specific target area) to campus for up to four summers of academic skill building. Participants are monitored by the program staff throughout the academic year through their high school counselors. |

Content-Area Tutoring |
|
One-on-one tutoring is available for students enrolled in Student Support Services, affiliated with the Office for Multicultural Affairs, working with the Office of Disability Services, or sponsored by The Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. The TLC hires outstanding undergraduates recommended by faculty and TLC staff for their competence, coursework success and their ability to lead discussions and model successful learning strategies. Tutors are available to model successful study habits and to help students understand assignments, review, and study course material. |
