Library Delivery Service

The Library is happy to offer retrieval and delivery service for faculty. This service allows you to request Library materials for delivery to your office or department, Monday through Friday, during regular office hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). The expected turnaround time for delivery of the material is 24 hours. If you have a more immediate need, please contact the Access Services staff directly by phone at x2540.

Requests may be placed for any circulating materials that are included in the Library Catalog, including books, videos, government publications, and bound periodical volumes. We will check out the item to your account and bring it to your office or department. (For articles, you may use the Library Article Retrieval Service and have them delivered via email.)

Make a Request by Phone or Email

You may contact the Library directly to request delivery of an item. This is the preferred method to request delivery of Universal Borrowing or Interlibrary Loan items or to request a movie for viewing in your classroom.

Make a Request Directly from the Library Catalog

Making a request from the Library Catalog is very similar to requesting material from another UW System library. Just follow these steps:

  • Find the item in the UWSP Library Catalog.
  • Click the Make a Request link.
  • If prompted, log in with your campus ID number and your last name as a password.
  • Select the Library Delivery Service option from the list of choices.
  • Follow the instructions to complete the form, providing your ID number and office address.

Be sure to check the due date of each item, since loan periods vary with types of items. If the material is not immediately available you will be contacted by the Library. To return materials, you may bring them back to the Library, or contact the Access Services Desk by phone or email, and we'll pick them up.
