Environmental Due Diligence - seems like just about everyone has their own understanding of what this means. From not-so-detailed beginnings in the early 1990s to the current 2021 ASTM Standard, we've come a long way and maybe too far. We'll touch on some of the basics of environmental due diligence, explore the stepped approach favored by the SBA, and look at some real-life experiences of how environmental due diligence can go well and in ways where it went the other direction. We'll also look at the "scary" world of Brownfields and why, maybe, you should provide financing on these properties.
