UWSP Logon Account Management


Activate Your Account

 
New UWSP Students (freshman, transfer, or re-entry ) automatically receive a Network Account upon registering for classes.  Your network account allows you access to almost all UWSP network resources, including:
  • MyPoint
  • Email
  • Desire to Learn
  • and so much more...

You can activate and begin using your account the day after you have registered for classes. (You will NOT be able to activate your account prior to registering for classes in person at UWSP) You only need to activate your account ONCE.  You will need the following information to activate your account: 

  • Student ID number (Found on your registration materials).
  • Social security number
  • Birth date. 

When you activate your UWSP account, you will be required to create a password.  Your password must meet the following rules: 

Password Rules:

  1. Your password must NOT contain any part of your logon name
  2. Your password must NOT contain your first or last name
  3. Your password must be at least 8 characters long
  4. Your password MUST contain characters from three of the following four "classes":
    • UPPERCASE letters (A-Z)
    • Lowercase letters (a-z)
    • Numbers (0-9)
    • Non-alphanumeric special characters (!, @, #, $, %, ^, &, etc.).
  5. You cannot use the same password as you used before (the system remembers your last 12).
  6. Capitalization matters.  Remember if you use upper or lower case.  (mypoint.uwsp.edu, OWA and other web services are CASE SENSITIVE.)

You are also assigned a unique logon IDYour logon ID is the first letter of your first name, the first four letters of your last name and the last three numbers of your student ID. (ex. zsmit123). 

During the activation process you will be required to submit answers to 5 identification questions.  The answers you provide are stored by the system and can be used to "help" yourself if there is a problem with your account. In order to "help" yourself you must have access to the Internet and your answers must match what is stored in the system.

After successfully completing the activation process you can log on to UWSP computing resources using your logon ID and the password you set for your account.

You do not need to be connected to the University network to activate your account.  To activate you UWSP account click on Activate My Account below.
