Student, Faculty/Staff Media Equipment

Students, faculty and staff can check out media equipment for course/work related purposes through the Help Desk.
  • Equipment is reserved on a first-come first-serve basis.
  • A valid photo ID is required when picking up equipment.
  • Equipment can be reserved for two days. Equipment checked out on a Thursday or Friday is due back the following Monday.
  • Renewals/extensions on equipment are based on equipment availability. Depending on availability, customers are allowed to extend equipment reservations up to three times. To exceed the three extension limit, you will need to have your professor contact the Help Desk via phone or email and grant you permission for another extension. If your instructor will not grant you an extension, you will have to return your equipment to the Help Desk and wait two days before you can check the equipment out again. Those using the All UWSP equipment are unable to exceed the three extension limit. Please contact Help Desk for renewals/extensions.
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that data is removed from the device before it is returned to the Help Desk. The Help Desk will not be responsible for formatting devices or memory cards.
How to check out Equipment
Equipment is available on a first come first serve basis. Visit the IT Help Desk with a valid photo ID to check-out equipment. Reservations are not accepted.

Pickup/return of items takes place during regular Help Desk hours of operation, Room 023 LRC.

Late/Damaged/Lost Equipment Fees
  • A $15 per day fee will be applied for equipment not returned on-time during academic semesters. A $5 per day fee will be applied for equipment not returned on-time during Summer and Winterim. Late fees are applied at the close of business Monday - Friday, excluding holidays.
  • Customers will be held liable for loss and/or damages (other than normal wear) incurred during the checkout period. Charges will be assessed at the replacement cost value (replacement item that is equal to or has similar specifications. There is a $10.00 surcharge to process these incidents. These charges will be applied in addition to already accrued late fees.
  • Customers have two business days to locate and return any equipment accessories that are not present at the time of return with no additional late fees. After two business days, the customer will be charged the replacement cost value of the accessory (replacement item that is equal to or has similar specificiations). There is a $5.00 surcharge to process these incidents.
  • Customers will have 20 business days (M-F) after the last day of finals to return their equipment to the Help Desk. Customers who have not returned their equipment by the close of business on the 20th day will be charged the greater fee of either the replacement cost value (replacement item that is equal to or has similar specifications) OR the total accrued late fees. There is a $10 surcharge to process these incidents.
  • Faculty/Staff charges are applied to a department account.
