Objectives of the Training Module

Mandatory training is essential in order to ensure that all parties involved with animal use at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point are aware of their responsibilities as dictated by the Animal Welfare Act. This tutorial is for all scientists, research technicians, animal technicians, and other personnel involved in animal care, treatment and use. At the end of this seminar you will be able to:

  • Work effectively with UWSP's IACUC
  • Conduct your research in compliance with Federal, State and University Regulations and Guidelines
  • Put together effective research designs
  • Search for alternatives (reduce, refine, replace)
  • Make appropriate choices in the use of anesthetics, analgesics, tranquilizing and euthanasia agents
  • Understand responsibilities for on-going research

Completion of this tutorial, by all personnel listed on your Protocol form, fulfills the mandatory training requirement at UWSP.

Completion of this tutorial will take approximately 15 minutes.
