HPHD students gain valuable professional experience locally and throughout the world by means of internships, practicum, student teaching and fieldwork.

The Dietetics internship consists of supervised practice, including: seminars, lectures, project participation, clinical, management, and community work all within the practice areas of dietetics. This internship is part of the eligibility process for earning Registered Dietitian credentials.

Family and Consumer Science students who plan to teach have the opportunity to observe and be supervised while they teach in a K-12 family and consumer science environment.  Family Life Education students experience fieldwork in a variety of off-campus organizations.

Health Promotion/Wellness student internship plans are designed in cooperation with organizations and incorporate experiences in behavior change facilitation, promotion, and organizational activities.  A list of over 300 internship sites is available in CPS room 101.
