Joanna Humphrey – The Pavlic Center
Interning at the Pavlic Center was a vast experience gaining opportunity. I was able to work in a variety of areas such as the Franklin Health Department, marketing, employee wellness, and of course womens health. I assisted with program development for Elmbrook Memorial's employee wellness "Love Yourself Well Fair", and Franklin's "Body and Balance" Health Series. I helped facilitate and create educational materials and resources for programs such as Baby Connection, Strong Women Strong Bones, and of course the Pavlic Center. I guess you could have called me a floating intern, but I feel very fortunate I was able to see all different area's of the hospital and community and how they work together.
Joanna is shown (right) assisting Donna, Pavlic Center’s Certified Lactation Consultant with a program called Baby Connection. This program is for new parents to come and listen to a variety of pediatric speakers and get advice and information from staff and other parents, In these pictures Joanna is helping mothers weigh their newborns.
