Who will Benefit from the Program
Family and Consumer Science Graduate Certification
The FCS graduate-level certification program will provide opportunities for licensed teachers to add a new license in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences. In addition, people who hold a bachelors degree’s can gain coursework for FCS teacher licensure, in a condensed format. *
The program will:
- Allow licensed teachers to move forward in their PDP while attaining an additional certification.
- Provide opportunities for already licensed instructors to apply graduate credits toward one of several available master’s degrees.
- Allow required credits to dovetail with our existing Master’s programs in Education (MSE) and Human and Community Resources (MSHCR)
- Allow non-teaching bachelors degree holders to obtain the core FCS courses needed for licensure as well as the additional requirements for an initial teaching license. For additional requirements needed by a non-teaching bachelors degree holders interested in this program click here.
* Some students may need to take requisite undergraduate courses to qualify for the FCS graduate licensure program.
