is looking for a candidate to become the Senior Program Officer, Nutrition.
For Who: Health Promotion and Human Development Students
Summary: The Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) team works within Global Health Strategies (GHS) and supports international/national efforts to decrease maternal, newborn and child morbidity and mortality. The MNCHN team has two broad portfolios of activities: one which focuses on maternal, newborn, and child health, and one which focuses on nutrition. The foundation’s nutrition strategic plan has two long term goals; to reduce Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) lost to micronutrient deficiencies, and reduce DALYs lost due to underweight in children 6-24 months of age.
Qualifications:
  • An MD or PhD in a related field and a minimum of 10 years experience in the in the design and implementation of field projects, operations research or clinical research projects, data analysis, case control studies, controlled trials or in the conception, design and development of field oriented research programs ideally focused on improving interventions, strategies and programs that reduce the morbidity and mortality of neonates, infants, and children.
  • Extensive research and field experience in the developing world is ideal. Demonstrated excellence in scientific writing and data analysis, written and oral communication skills, and experience communicating with a broad and diverse audience.
  • Experience in a role requiring collaboration in complex internal and external organizations, as well as a demonstrated ability to work with efficiency and diplomacy, flexibility and a sense of humor, particularly as part of a team effort.
  • History of involvement and commitment to global nutrition, maternal and child health issues.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

General responsibilities include teaching great classes, managing day-to-day operations, providing excellent customer service and selling the program to new and existing customers.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and will posses superior time management skills. A background in child development, education, physical education and/or gymnastics is certainly a plus.
