Paul J. Staddler Honorary Scholarship
Paul Staddler graduated from UWSP in 1982
with a degree in physical education and health education. Following
several years
of work for Glaxo Corporation, Paul began a very successful teaching and
coaching
career with the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools system and was
recognized as a Kohl Outstanding Teaching Award recipient. Paul and his
wife Doris (1981) worked their way through UWSP with loans, jobs, and
occasional scholarships. This scholarship met Paul’s goal of helping
UWSP students and honoring his professors for the guidance and many
kindnesses they offered him. He hoped that recipients will also find the
means and opportunities to enhance the lives of future UWSP students.
Paul passed away on September 3, 2004, at age 45. This scholarship is
awarded to junior or senior Health Promotion/Wellness majors with a
minimum GPA of 3.0.
