Dr. Agnes A. Jones Scholarship

This scholarship honors Dr. Agnes A. Jones, head of the Department of Home Economics from 1956 to 1981. At the height of her tenure, the department offered five bachelor’s degrees with nine different options and two master’s degrees. Under her leadership, Home Economics became a School and moved into the new College of Professional Studies building; off -campus internships were established; and more than $5 million in grants was secured for special programs and equipment. This scholarship is available to Dietetics or Family and Consumer Sciences students who demonstrate leadership, professional potential, ambition, academic achievement, good character, concern for others, and financial need.
