John and Barb Munson Outstanding Senior in Health Promotion Award Scholarship
The John and Barb Munson scholarship was established in 2007 in honor
of Dr. John Munson at his retirement.
“Doc” Munson was a local and national leader in Wellness and was one of
the founders of UWSP’s bachelor’s
degree program in Health Promotion. As associate dean, he oversaw
the construction of the Health Enhancement Center and led the
integration of the Dietetics, Family and Consumer Education, and Health
Promotion units
into what is now the School of Health Promotion and Human Development.
John touched the lives of thousands of UWSP students through mentoring,
teaching, and coaching. The scholarship is awarded to the
Outstanding Senior in Health Promotion, selected by the Health Promotion
Faculty.
