Adventure Tours

Program

The lush and fertile Dordogne Valley of southwestern France is home to countless chateaux, tranquil medieval villages, pre-historic cave art, and scenic natural beauty.  The serene countryside is dotted with bustling and picturesque town markets, intriguing fortifications, and breathtaking cliff vistas.  We'll visit artisans and craftspeople at work, explore gouffres (underground caves), and see abbeys and walled towns that attracted pilgrims in the middle ages.

The vines, chestnut trees, walnut trees, cèpes and truffles that make this land so rich are just part of the area’s renowned culinary traditions. The wines of Bergerac and legendary Bordeaux vintages  are many and varied; the area is simply brimming with vineyards. We’ll study and sample.

Sam Taylor of The Observer wrote about the Lot area, “A blessed little corner of south-west France made up of gently rolling hills, fields of corn and sunflowers, winding roads empty of cars and pretty little towns and villages, where people always have time to talk to you. It's like an unspoiled Tuscany or Provence, and I'd better shut up now or I'll be responsible for spoiling it.”
